Kurt Holsapple
Kurt attended Alfred University's College of Ceramics from 1970-1974,
earning an arts degree and staying to work in the design studio there. He then
served a two year apprenticeship with Wendell Castle before returning to his hometown
on the Hudson River to found his furniture and cabinetry business.
Kurt believes that in both sculpture and furniture-making, a conversation
occurs between himself and the medium he is working with at the time. "The dialogue
is an unspoken flow of emotions culminating in a finished piece", according to
Kurt. "These conversations bring me so much joy and peace, and, I hope, beauty
to the viewer."
