Frana Baruch

Frana Kalmus Baruch

Frana Kalmus Baruch is a Graphic Designer, Teacher, Artist and Mom. For years she was a corporate Graphic Designer working with organizations such as The New York City Transit Authority, Citicorp, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Planned Parenthood, Clinique International and The Culinary Institute of America. She presently has a home-based studio and is proud to be working for clients such as Merriweather's (natural cosmetics & soaps) and the Children’s Media Project in Poughkeepsie.

Frana loves working in pen and ink, oils, collage and experimenting with various mediums; bringing out "personality" in her art, making each piece unique. She teaches art classes which emphasize the joy of the process and the uniqueness of each student's work.

Her passion for art was inspired by her father, Harry Kalmus, an award winning photographer. He encouraged her to pursue her interests at an early age, exposing Frana to the art around her.

Frana is a graduate of Pratt Institute, where she majored in Graphic Design and minored in Illustration. Along with these interests, she continues to study art history.

She's proud to be a member of The Tivoli Artist's Co-op www.tivoliartistsco-op.com, and shows her work often at that gallery. Their encouragement has continued to fuel her creative energy.

	A Good Day Pen and Ink		Doodle Mirror "Doodle Mirror" measure's 10" by 10". Frana has quite a few "Doodle Mirrors" available. All are slightly different. They are drawn with marker on gessoed wood and then coated with a sealant. "Doodle Mirror" is $45.
	Crocheted Items Frana loves to Crochet! Crocheted items are available during our yearly holiday show. Frana would be happy to make you a custom item: baby sweater sets, fingerless gloves, scarfs. The drawing is very complex, and is best appreciated in person. It will be on view at the Tivoli Artist Co-op during the "Works on Paper" Exhibit. 	My Daughter's Pointe Shoes My Daughter's Pointe Shoes is 8" x 10", and is matted and framed. The picture is Mixed Media. $85		Aging Well Aging Well s a 16" x 20" image, in addition it is matted and framed. The drawing is very complex, and is best appreciated in person. The picture is meant to be displayed in front a light source (a window is nice). The picture works very much like stained glass. "Vivienne" is displayed in a 18" x 24" frame. Price $325.
	Birds Flying Pen and Ink, Pencil on Rice paper		Einstein Frana will be happy to do illustrations of your beloved pet, if you can supply a reference for her to work from. Beatrice and Einstein are illustrations in pen and ink with mixed media. They are 14" by 11", and fit comfortably in a 16" by 20" frame.
	The Resurrection of Maude "The Resurrection of Maude" is a large, complex pen and ink collage with mixed media. "Maude" always has a good hair day.... She is held within a 28" by 24" frame, and is priced at $725.		Beatrice Frana will be happy to do illustrations of your beloved pet, if you can supply a reference for her to work from. Beatrice and Einstein are illustrations in pen and ink with mixed media. They are 14" by 11", and fit comfortably in a 16" by 20" frame. Frana will be happy to discuss size with you. Price starts at $150.
	Tulips "Tulips" is an oil painting on canvas. The painting is 24" by 28" and has a painted border. "Tulips" is priced at $325.		Dignity Mixed Media $300
	Miss Jasmine Frana continually participates in Life Drawing Classes. Miss Lavender and Miss Jasmine can be seen on Merriweather's Product labels (www.merriweathers.com). Both drawings are pastel with Mixed Media on different types of Brown Paper. Framed, the drawings are 24" by 18". Prices start at $225.		Ebbets Ebbet's Field is available in hand colored images - an 11" by 14" image fits into a 16" by 20" frame. Price starts at $125. .
